| FLANGE MARKINGS |
| Flange markings are
designated by the specifications to which the flanges are manufactured. The primary
marking specification in use today is MSS SP25, standard marking system for valves,
fittings, flanges and unions. The marking requirements in this specification are used by
both ASTM materials specifications and by ASME dimensional specifications. And, of course,
the marking requirements specified in MSS SP44 are the same. API flanges are marked in
accordance with API specifications. The user is advised that marking requirements will vary according to specification such as the requirement in MSS SP44 to include a PL preceding the grade symbol marking which identifies the grade of material in the weld neck. Boltex is aware of the marking requirements and marks all flanges in accordance with the specification to which they are manufactured. |
